The #1 fan of Harlem Saxophonist Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis was his mother, who compiled exquisite scrapbooks of memorabilia documenting the legendary musician's life. As these scrapbooks are delicate, Zero Defect was engaged to develop a touchscreen kiosk that would allow visitors to explore the photos, set lists, ticket stubs, flyers and more within—and much more: Relevant music from each era accompanies the presentation, cross-indexed with every player on the recordings.
The kiosk was a huge hit and became a permanent installation. A second kiosk with the same design language was then developed, allowing visitors to sit at a musical keyboard and jam along with the Museum's co-artistic director, bassist Christian McBride.
