Our Work / Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis Kiosk / National Jazz Museum in Harlem
For the National Jazz Museum in Harlem's special exhibition on hard-swinging tenor saxophonist Eddie "Lockjaw" Davis, Zero Defect Design developed a multimedia touchscreen kiosk that enables visitors to explore the artist's life and music.
Davis' mother maintained an incredible scrapbook of his career, with photographs, press clippings, nightclub promo cards and more dating back to the early 1940s. As the scrapbook is too fragile for visitors to page through, the kiosk offers a virtual method of discovery through annotated high resolution images. Each chapter tells a story about the artist's life, to be enjoyed in sequence or by following one's interests through the depth of images, music, players and places.
